Born in Philadelphia, Spector made his Broadway debut in Les Miserables, playing Gavroche. He then studied at Princeton University and later returned to acting. He is an original cast member of the Chicago company of Jersey Boys where he played Frankie Valli in 2008. Afterwards, he received a nomination for a tony award for best featured actor in a musical for his portrayal of Barry Mann in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
