Closing out the 18th Season is one of the newest plays ever produced at KCAT by an incredible playwright who has been making a name for herself with her plays Stick Fly and The Bluest Eye. In Lydia Diamond’s Smart People, four highly educated friends gather on the eve of Barack Obama’s 2008 election to attempt to navigate the tough questions about race, and examining their biases through a lens of their backgrounds and their education.
