Moonlight Stage Productions has been producing musical theatre for the enjoyment of audiences from throughout Southern California and beyond for 36 years. The cultural arts program of the City of Vista, Moonlight is an award-winning, professional company presenting a season of four Broadway musicals in the 2,000-person capacity Moonlight Amphitheatre every summer. Our productions are presented in partnership with our non-profit fund-raising partner, the Moonlight Cultural Foundation.
Our musicals are produced from the ground-up utilizing a combination of Broadway, professional regional and exceptional local talent. Our creative staffs of directors and choreographers are the best on the musical theatre scene, some of whom have been associated with the Broadway or national touring productions of the work they are staging at Moonlight. One of the hallmarks of the Moonlight experience are our full pit orchestras performing the music LIVE. Our brand of musical theatre is as close as you'll get to Broadway quality without having to travel to New York. As StageScene LA remarked about our musicals: New York has met its match.
While Moonlight imports talent with professional credits including Broadway, we have also exported talent to the Great White Way. Moonlight Stage Productions is renowned for providing the foundation of performance experience that numerous actors working on Broadway and nationally today acquired during the early years of their career.
The caliber of production and stage craft is second-to-none. Moonlight often utilizes the Broadway sets and costumes for its productions.
Moonlight Stage Productions is committed to producing the highest quality of musical theatre for its audiences. The critical acclaim from regional press and awards from the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle signifies our commitment for producing Broadway's Best Under the Stars. The 2017 season runs June through September and includes Aida, The Little Mermaid, Sunset Boulevard, and In the Heights.
